What we have done or are doing:
Autumn 2015:

We had a team meeting in September where we set more specific goals for the first quarter of the project and divided tasks and responsibilities between ourselves.

We have informed all the staff, students and their parents about the project.

We have made preparations (planning a programme) for the first “short joint-staff training event” to be organized by our school in November.

In English and PE, our 8E sports class is currently working on a game called “Mölkky” – the object is to make an instructional Youtube video of how to play the game. /DONE!

In Technical work they are making a game set for Mölkky. /DONE!

In English several classes of 8th formers are creating a board game on Finland with questions ranging from cultural and historical aspects to flora and fauna spiced up with some humour.

In Art some students are designing the actual game board for the Finland-game.

Class 9C (an English-oriented group) have taken photos of Joensuu and written commentaries for them; these are now being edited into a PPT presentation by some IT groups. /DONE!

In History, students are asked to brainstorm some traditional Finnish outdoor and party games to be researched in more detail.

In English, class 7F has prepared AdobeVoice presentations on our school: they have taken photos of the school and prepared written and audio commentaries for them. /DONE!

In English, class 8E is preparing PPT presentations on different aspects of Finland. /DONE!

in Art, students of both the Finnish and the Spanish school will be asked to design a logo for the project: there will be a competition where students get to vote on the best logo./DONE!

Mobility 1 (Spanish teachers’ visit to our school) was implemented according to plan in November 2015.
Spring 2016:
- January 2016: together with our Spanish partners we established a shared Schoology site where students can share their work and chat with each other.
- February 2016
- A competition has been set up for all the students of Lyseo comprehensive school: The task is to come up with new ways of using and playing with the traditional Pekka-cards as means of learning English.
- In English, class 8F is preparing an Adobe Voice presentation on a traditional Finnish board game called African Star. In History another class is going to study the historical background of the game. /DONE!
- Preparations are under way regarding Mobility 2: Four Finnish teachers are leaving for Spain, Albacete/Fuenteálamo in April 2016.
- We have also started preparing for Mobility 3 (in October 2016) when Spanish students visit our school. We are currently looking for host families to accommodate our guests.
- Preparations for Erasmus+ theme week (week 13) are under way: several foreigners, including many Spaniards, have offered their input regarding the workshops we are planning to set up for our students!
- Finnish and Spanish students have created a shared Whatsapp group to get to know each other better – this communication takes place in their freetime and is not supervised by any teachers.
- Erasmus+ theme week (week 13) successfully implemented
- Mobility 2 (4 Finnish teachers’ visit to Albacete/Fuente Alamo/IES Miguel de Cervantes) took place 9th – 16th April 2016
- Host families for most Spanish students have been found
- Planning of Spanish Students’ visit (Mobility 3) under way: Finnish students will be asked to join the Erasmus team to plan the week’s programme
- Different types of discussion prompts have been inserted in Schoology for Spanish and Finnish students to share and compare their opinions about various topics
Autumn 2016
- Preparations for the Spanish students’ mobility to Joensuu started in August
- Spanish students’ week’s mobility to Joensuu was carried out according to plan in October.
- The mobility week (3rd-7th October) was an “Erasmus theme week” in our school with different types of activities to allow our students to interact with the Spanish guests
- The Finnish and Spanish students started designing a new boardgame “European adventure” when meeting face-to-face in Joensuu: the project will continue on-line through Schoology
- The selection of the 24 Finnish students who will participate in the student mobility to Spain was made in November

- Preparations for the Finnish students’ mobility to Fuenteálamo are under way
